Instagram Finally Adds Music to Soundtrack Your Stories

Instagram continues to be subject to multiple updates. Following the launch of IGTV, as well as a new four-way video chat feature, the social media app is now introducing music to Stories.

For the first time, you’ll finally be able to further liven up your Stories by soundtracking uploads with your favorite tunes. You can search for a specific song or artist, or browse by genre, mood, and what’s popular. Once you choose a track, you can then fast-forward or rewind to find the exact part that you want in your Story.

To add music, simply tap the sticker icon and select the music option, once you’ve captured a photo or video. On iOS, you can even choose a song before shooting photo or video by scrolling to the music option on the Instagram camera. When followers watch your Story, they’ll hear the selected tune automatically, and then be able to tap the sticker to see the song title and artist.

Music in Instagram Stories is now available in select countries. Be on the lookout for new songs to be added daily.

The 25 Richest Families in the World Are Worth More Than $1 Trillion

Wealth is often times passed down from generation to generation, further proving that some people are simply blessed by being born into certain homes. This week Bloomberg has shared its latest breakdown of family fortunes, disclosing that the world’s 25 richest families are worth more than $1 trillion USD.

When it comes to individual family sums, Bloomberg points out, however, that some calculations are likely lowballed, seeing as a number of fortunes are too diffuse to value.

“The nature of many dynastic fortunes — backed by decades and sometimes centuries of assets and dividends — can obfuscate the true extent of their holdings,” says Bloomberg. “Clans whose source of wealth is currently unverifiable or derives primarily from the state, such as the sprawling House of Saud, are also absent.”

In addition, first-generation fortunes are excluded, as well as those with a lone heir. Nonetheless, below you can find the top 10 richest families in the world, then follow on over to Bloomberg for a more detailed look, including the remaining clans.

Ed Sheeran Sued for $100 Million for Allegedly Copying Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On”

Ed Sheeran is facing a $100 million lawsuit alleging that the singer-songwriter plagiarized Marvin Gaye‘s 1973 bedroom classic, “Let’s Get It On,” with his 2014 hit song “Thinking Out Loud,” TMZ reports.

The suit was filed by Structured Asset Sales, a company that owns one-third of the copyright to “Let’s Get It On,” and according to the lawsuit, Sheeran’s song incorporates the same melody, rhythms, harmonies, drums, bassline, backing chorus, tempo, syncopation and looping as “Let’s Get it On.”

Marvin Gaye’s song was written by Edward Townsend and Gaye in 1973, and when Townsend passed away in 2003, Structured Asset Sales bought one third of the copyright. Sheeran’s song went on to become a huge hit in 2016 and nominated for a Grammy for Best Record, Best Performance and Song of the Year.

Additionally, Sheeran was also sued over “Thinking Out Loud” in 2016. The family of Ed Townsend argued that “Thinking Out Loud” lifted the melody and other rhythmic components from Gaye’s track. Sheeran responded and claimed that the chord progressions and drum patterns of both songs are “extremely commonplace,” and that elements in “Let’s Get It On” are in the public domain and unprotectable.

LEGO Debuts 2,321-Piece ‘Voltron: Legendary Defender’ Set

With an IKEA LEGO collaboration already in the works, LEGO has officially confirmed that it will be adding Voltron to its range of fan-petitioned LEGO Ideas products.

Based on the design first seen in the classic 1984 animated series, rather than the modernized update with Netflix’s Voltron: Legendary Defender, this truly collectible toy is composed of a whopping 2,321 pieces, and the kit is one of the biggest mech-based sets LEGO has ever produced, measuring in at 15 inches tall.

Featuring buildable and highly posable black, blue, yellow, red and green lions with specially designed, extra-strong joints to combine them all and create the Voltron super robot, Voltron’s huge sword and shield will also be included, and can attach firmly to the hands.

Priced at $179.99 USD, availability is scheduled for August 1, according to LEGO’s website.
