Aurélien Débat, Horizon Lines (2014-15)

French illustrator Aurélien Débat has already been featured in Socks with his “Imaginary City of Tamponville“.

The work shown here (titled: Lignes d’horizon) is an experiment with lines and textures, depicting sea landscapes.

The project came into life as a small publication of 20 pages containing drawings realized in 2014 at Villa la Brugère in Normandy and in Marseille in 2015.

— Scott Snyder (@Ssnyder1835) October 7, 2017

DC Comics writer Scott Snyder posted a photo from New York Comic Con 2017 of one clever attendee who went dressed up as the actual Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City where the convention is held. The wonderful cosplay popped up in numerous photos, but his or her true identity is still a mystery.

Sky-High Paper Wigs Topped With Modern Luxuries by Asya Kozina

Paper artist Asya Kozina was inspired by the decadent wigs found in Baroque and Rococo still lifes, tall masses of hair adorned with objects that represent the ideals of luxury and beauty in the 17th and 18th centuries. Her series Skyscraper on the Head imagines how these outdated accessories might look if produced today, replacing the exotic fruits and birds of early centuries with airplanes, skyscrapers, and ferris wheels.

The project is a continuation of a series of Baroque paper wigs the artist began making in 2015. You can see more of Kozina’s life-size and miniature paper costumes on her Instagram and Behance. (via Design Boom)

Gmund Colors Campaign by Principal and Tolleson Design

Art direction, graphic design, and photography by Principal and Tolleson Design.

Because of my passion for colors and outstanding graphic design, it’s my pleasure to feature this beautiful work on WE AND THE COLOR. When creative director Steve Tolleson teamed up with studio Principal to collaborate on Gmund’s product plans, it marked the beginning of a two-year partnership “to define the perfect color palette within a single paper collection.” With 48 colors offered in four surface options, the Gmund Colors palette ensures that any color combination works together seamlessly. Four hero portraits were created to present the four surface finishes. A vivid mix of swatchbook inserts demonstrate the various possibilities of print techniques.

Please have a look at the images below. For more, just visit Steve Tolleson’s website or check out his portfolio on Behance.
